Recently I decided to add interviews to the site. I agonized over what format they should be, and made lists of pros/cons for each one. In the end I decided that TEXT would be the easiest, and fit perfectly as a buffer for all the video work that I do. I also realized that I could easily do interviews over different chat programs.
I made a list of friends that I could interview and the first one that jumped out...

3 different takes, 2 guitars, and one missing tape later, we finally have a new Laura Stevenson song. Miss having her around all the time. We had a bunch of funny outtakes from this session. Hopefully I remember them for the DVD.

Disclaimers
We used to live in the same apartment. Recently I played drums with them on way down to Fest. I'm the backup backup backup drummer. Laura also paid me to do the artwork, and then sat behind me the whole time. Lastly, my good friends at Mandible put out this record.
Ok, I think I got everything out in the open. With that said, I just wanted to let everyone know how much I love this record. It gives me an...

A special Valentine's treat from Laura and Dave. Dave plays in Chicago's Maps and Atlases, and was visiting during the week. We have more songs from him and Laura coming up soon.

Looking back over the video on IYMI, I noticed that there hasn't been one of Laura playing live. Seeking to correct that mistake, I brought my camera to her last show, where she played with her full Cans lineup ( minus 1 ). This song is from their upcoming 7inch on Mandible Records.
Recently it was Laura's birthday, so make sure to wish her a happy birthday in the comments.

This is from their recent show with Maps and Atlases. I can assure you that the pieces of paper taped to the stands are only there for a cover song they did later in the set.
Someone told Laura that she shouldn't count into songs that she starts. I think it was Beethoven.

Dreamed up as a way for 3 friends to hang out, flesh out some ideas that might not work in their other projects, and hang out some more, Kudrow is what happens when you realize that writing your own music is sometimes easier than being in a Replacements cover band...
The Brooklyn trio - Jeff Rosenstock (Bomb the Music Industry!, Pegasuses-XL) on baritone guitar and vocals, Mike Campbell (The Brass, Laura Stevenson and the Cans, Latterman) on bass,...

Ava Luna was first brought up in my interview with Laura Stevenson. Since then I've been trading emails back and forth with them about having them over for a Pink Couch.
This is the 1st recording to use a drum machine, and they also were able to fit 7 people on the couch, beating out Defiance, Ohio. The music flows together perfectly, it's amazing how little I had to do. Definitely check this band out.
You can download their latest EP from...

I know I'm really behind on this, Sara has already surpassed her goal of $3,000 with tons of time to spare. If you have a few dollars laying around, support this awesome project. Any money over the original amount helps support future costs. You also get access to custom t-shirts and credits in the movie.
From Sara:
WE'VE REACHED OUR GOAL! But we can still exceed it. Your donations will continue to fund our project and help us to cover future...

Pete and company came over about a month ago after a quiet set at this year's Hillstock. A neighbor came by at the end of the night and made desperate pleas for an end to the weekend long music marathon. We were able to cram this recording in right before Pete went off to Philadelphia and I left for 6 weeks. He is currently playing with Laura Stevenson and the Cans on their current tour with Maps & Atlases and...
