Good Luck-Bringing Them Back To Life
Good buddies Good Luck had the pleasure of living in "luxury" in brookly recently. I figured they could pay me back by recording a pink couch. Stay tuned for a Matty PC solo Pink Couch too.

Good Luck-Hey Matt
Good Luck in Bloomington, IN. Matt, Ginger and Mike are three of the nicest people you'll meet and one of my favorite bands right now. This is from a weird show they played for a "block party" which consisted of 6 tents and legos. This has a different drum part than the original.

Good Luck at a weird show in Bloomington. I started moving my videos hosting over to Vimeo, so now you can embed them to your hearts desire. They are also going to be a lot higher resolution. No more stealing and putting them on YouTube. Enjoy!

Good Luck-Stars Were Exploding
So you probably can tell that I love this band a lot. So I can ensure that there will be no end to the amount of videos of them on this site. This video is from their recent show at Death By Audio in Brooklyn. Also, I've rearranged the names of the videos, so the other version of this song is called "Bringing them back to life" While they were here they also recorded a video for the new Blue Couch Sessions....

Good Old War-Coney Island
I originally saw this band when they were called Castles about a year ago, and they blew me away with how tight they were. If you like this you should get their record "Only Way to Be Alone", which has a song with Dave Davison of Maps and Atlases on it.

Good Old War-Just Another Day
Pulling double duty as Cast Spells' backing band, they were still able to pull off a pitch perfect performance. I'm usually not a fan of the singing drummer, but I keep adding exceptions to that rule everyday. This is off of their recent full length "Only Way to be Alone".

Down in the Dumps-Dumps Luck
Dumps Luck sounds like a gravelly version of what once was pop punk like if someone took a CD of a pop punk band and then backed over it with a pick up truck. They have a catchiness buried under a thick coating of grit, grim, and sounds from the gutter. Under the sludge there's an enthusiasm to the whole CD that is infectious, and also a slight sarcasm that was once a standard for bands of this genre. "I...

Paul at this year's Bereafest. I'm just starting to go through all the footage. Some stuff turned out great, and some came out kind of muddy. I'll probably get the acoustic stuff up first and work on the electric some more. Paul is going to be on tour with good buddies Good Luck.

I waited all night before asking them about recording, luckily my good friend Kate took charge and we figured it all out. Bagels were produced, eaten and I knocked over multiple things. They have a new record coming out, which sounds amazing, and has this song on it. P.S. Eliot also contains members of The Ackleys.

Short film about making friends. This is going to be part of new series that Eric is working on with his Bloomington crew. This video features music and acting by Good Luck's Matt Tobey, who eerily looks like Dom in the beginning of this video. Is this a trend for Eric? Watch out Mike Dumps, you're next on the list for video partner. Also look forward to more videos from this crew. I'm glad Eric is finally back in the ring.

Banner Pilot-Pass the Poison
For fans of Dillinger 4, The Holy Mess, Lawrence Arms While the internet-revolution has definitely helped young bands to reach a wider audience, it's still rather unlikely to hit a real gem while digging through Myspace. The State Lottery-Cities We
These guys are spread out as per the diaspora of punk, hailing from different areas of the midwest and New York City. They play an extremely melodic, yet aggressive brand of punk rock that harkens back to M-Blanket and asks "what if Jawbreaker's first few records had good production quality?" Iron Chic is melodic in the same way Latterman are but, add Lubrano's dynamic-as-shit vocals, and you've got an unstoppable force on your hands. Slingshot Dakota-Demo #3
At first glance it's easy to make the one-off assumption that Slingshot Dakota are some sort of Mates of State tribute act -- the male/female couple, the keyboard lead, the often cute-sounding songs all add to this. But if you dig slightly below the surface you find a band that is fully their own, even on a three-song demo CD -- with obvious influences that span the gamut of independent music. The first track, "White Couch" dispels the fear that somehow...

Spraynard-Cut And Paste
I figured that for this release, I would eschew my normal badly written review and get some last minute blurbs from people who like the band. I looked up two message boards and asked people to say some nice stuff about these 3, and this is what I got. I'll sum it up for clarity. Spraynard plays heartfelt pop punk with tons of singalongs and catchy drum/guitar interplay. They are also 3 of the nicest dudes I've met on the road....

For Serious This Time-When You
This band came out of nowhere for me. I recently saw their name on the list of bands playing with Thousandaires in Philadelphia. After falling in love with their songs on myspace, I failed to talk to any of them at the show. Luckily I've become pretty proficient at sending after-the-fact emails, and was able to talk them into putting the EP up on this lovely site. This band puts a lovely spin on the Braid formula. Taking a completely...

Interview-Laura Stevenson and The Cans
Recently I decided to add interviews to the site. I agonized over what format they should be, and made lists of pros/cons for each one. In the end I decided that TEXT would be the easiest, and fit perfectly as a buffer for all the video work that I do. I also realized that I could easily do interviews over different chat programs. I made a list of friends that I could interview and the first one that jumped out...

Bridge And Tunnel-Indoor Voices
Today, B&T departs* for Europe, leaving the city of New York on one of the nicest days of the year. Along for the ride will be a brand new 10" (12" limited) record, which features some of the last songs the band wrote with bassist Tia Meilinger. These 5 songs are some of their strongest yet. The first song "Predecessors", busts through the gates with a rhythm that's hard not to bounce your head to. The guitars weave in and...

!ATTENTION!-Four Or Five Ways To Play These Chords
Fronted by the Cookie Monster's kid brother, Toronto's !ATTENTION! is back with their second release "Four Or Five Ways To Play These Chords". The songs are fast and poppy and catch your _________ right from the first note. This band sounds like a combination of the guitar work of Yo Man, Go!, the vocals of Down in the Dumps, and the harmonies of Junior Battles. Liz Prince-Chaos in Tejas : Day 1
Day 1 of my trip to Austin for Chaos in Tejas I was expecting some good ol' fashioned Texas culture shock, but Austin is about as un-Texan as you can get and still be in the state. I've wanted to have t-shirts available again for the site, but it's been impossible to find the time to get a design together. With that in mind, I've decided to start releasing short runs of Pink Couch Session t-shirts by different artists. The only design stipulation is that it somehow features the pink couch in it.
