Fat Shadow consists of members of The Door-Keys, Landlord and Pink Razors. They came by so long ago, that they probably forgot about doing it, or have been annoyed at me for a long time. In honor of their newest release "Awkward Breeds", we have a brand new Pink Couch from Ohio's The Sidekicks. I can attest to the fact that their new record is amazing, and you should all do yourselves a favor and preorder the new record. Matt Pryor is here to kick off a new year for the site. His new record "May Day" just came out today, so make sure to grab it! The album was released under his own label, Nightshoes Syndicate, and on Big Scary Monsters in the UK. Matt is currently on tour with Into It Over It, Chris Conley of Saves to Day and more, on the "Where's the Band?" tour. You can hear the whole album on Bandcamp and also buy it from iTunes. Thanks to Lisa, Bryan, Edan, Matt and Death By Audio for having us over! This session was on my "must-have" list when I started. It's nice to be able to cross one off finally!

In honor of Ramsey's comic post, I decided to post this great Pink Couch Session of her buddies from Washington DC, The Ambulars. This was recorded a couple of months ago before their show at the Manifesta Loft. The song is off their upcoming full length which they are recording in a month. We did this whole session in 20 minutes. It was redonkulous. I think I had to be somewhere, or maybe they did. Oh yea, I had practice. I think I ended up being early anyway. I pointlessly rushed them. SORRY MIXTAPES!

They came, they drank Jeremiah Weed, they played, they played again, and they left. DH! just released their full length LP, Domesplitter, on Kind of Like Records. You can hear all their music at their Bandcamp!

Somehow I've never seen this band live, despite loving everything they've put out over the last couple of years. I keep missing them play over and over, it's almost annoying at this point. Luckily for me, I was able to drag them over to my stinky pink couch and force them to play in a hot unbearable apartment. This song is off of their recent full length, "Two Worlds", on Run for Cover Records. Pick it up or check this band out when they come through your town. They are incredibly nice and thought that this was fun. Crazy kids! It's not fun!

This was recorded at the same time as The Sidekicks' session. It was great hanging out with these guys all day, and to see them play again. I'm extremely stoked for Matt's new American War record, which will hopefully be coming out soon. For now, pick up his LP "Rhetoric" on Shout Out Loud Records or download it from IYMI.

The recording of this session has been the focus of many emails back and forth between Allison and me. Despite our busy summers, we were finally able to figure out a day to record this. "Nothing Left" is off her new record, which she is currently working on. Check her website to see crazy pictures of her tracking setup and fun studio pictures. I'm currently writing this while driving through the Scottish hillside. Sheep!

I'm currently in Paris right now , connected to the worst wi-fi signal in Europe. It keeps going out and I have to restart my computer constantly. Despite these inconveniences, I was able to upload and post this amazing video from Katie's new solo project, Waxahatchee. This video is from the 10 year anniversary of Square of Opposition Records Festival which was held in Bethlehem, PA last weekend. It was an all-day celebration of Lehigh Valley music, featuring extinct bands like Hypatia, Yo Man Go, Audioheart, Government Satire and Robot Attack, who were summoned from the dead by the wizard Chris Reject. A lot of the bands that played that weekend are on his record label, so make sure to stop by SoO and check out his releases. He's been doing this for 10 years, which has to count for something. Right? Audioheart is one of the many bands Charlie Cottone has been in while living in the valley. You could tell this from the amount of times he was up on stage on Saturday. It was sort of ridiculous. Charlie also plays in Bear Hug (formerly Paramedic). I will not mention anything about Dave, Ryan or Flem, mostly because I don't really know Flem. RVIVR is one of those bands that tours so much it's crazy. After the fiasco of their last PCS, I'm glad they were able to come back so soon. This is off their self-titled record, which you can download from Rumbletowne Records.
