  Hidden Spots (my band of the year!)
  Hidden Spots - "Hundred Million Voices" (LP of the year!)
  Hidden Spots/Black Rainbow - "Everybody Get Together" (split 7" of the year!)
  other than the Hidden Spots:
  CRACKBOX!!! "Plug It The Fuck In" (from NOLA, best new band, great demo tape)
  the new Reigning Sound record "Love And Curses" was more than worth the long wait
  Dinosaur Jr. released "Farm" and proves they're still every bit as good as they ever were.
  ADD/C and the Future Virgins released great 7 inches.
  Sunn 0))) "Monoliths & Dimensions" still epic and heavy as shit, but with an added touch of beauty that we haven't seen from these drone overlords.
  Vic Chesnutt released his final records which turned out to be some of my favorites. There were a lot of "celebrity" deaths this year, but the only one that i actually felt for was Vic. RIP.
  RIP Ron Asheton of the Stooges and Frank Navetta of the Descendents as well.
  Do Ya Hear We! Fest in Chattanooga! featuring reunions by old southern greats like Los Canadians, Crackrock, Horrible Odds and Rice Harvester
  Kreamy 'Lectric Santa has been a band for over 20 years?!? they released the brainmelting "Operation Spacetime Cynderblock"
  Bonnie Prince Billy - "Beware" (got me through a hellish 14 hour drive coming home from tour)
  farewell to CHEEKY!
  Screaming Females did themselves real good this year.
  I got to see X for the second time in two years!
  
  in retrospective, 2009 was great, even though it felt terrible at many many moments.
  I hope 2010 is even better for all of ya'll!
