Day 1 of my trip to Austin for Chaos in Tejas I was expecting some good ol' fashioned Texas culture shock, but Austin is about as un-Texan as you can get and still be in the state. Now, those of you who know my musical tastes well will probably be surprised that I chose Chaos as the fest that I'd go to this year, and while there are a few bands I wanted to see, the trip was mostly so I could be reunited with my former roommate Claire Van. Still it was good food and good times, as you'll see in the pages to follow!
