Music Monday by Katie Crutchfield

Katie plays/sings in Birmingham band P.S. Eliot. She's also on a warpath with starting new projects, including Bad Banana and Waxahatchee. Hopefully this will continue when she makes the trek north to New York in March.

Sourpatch "Mira Mija" 7 inch
My "buy it" portion of this Music Monday is brought to you by some new friends of mine from San Jose, California. They combine sugary 90s grrl pop with sophisticated pop-punk pretty brilliantly and this is their newest release. It hasn't left my record player in a solid month.

Twat Sauce "Clash of the Tight Ones" tape
I'm slightly biased towards this band because my sister plays bass but I wouldn't include them if I didn't think they were great. Catchy, aggressive pop-punk from Chattanooga, TN with songs about yuppies and shitting your pants. It's a total gem among an immaculate array of other awesome bands and recent releases from Chattanooga.

Get Psyched On

The Two Funerals "Boy's Club" 12 inch
I've had the opportunity to watch this band adapt and develop and they are nothing short of monumental these days. Shannon's lyrics are well-articulated and unflinching and I can only imagine that their new 7 inch will have even more bite and confrontation than their previous releases. Lady business, get psyched. This record will be re-released on Rorschach Records as a 12 inch.

Cub "New York City"

Anyone who knows me well knows that I have a fixation on boat music videos. This is probably one of the greatest ones ever made by one of my favorite bands ever. It's ample inspiration for my boat video life goal. Also the song is appropriate due to my own semi-recent decision to move to New York and in honor of IYMI's hometown.
