Okay sorry this Valentines Edition of Music Mondays is running a little on the later side!! I realized after putting it together that the common thread of my selections (besides the phenomenal Cyndi Lauper video) is that they are all bands who Nana Grizol has played with on tour. also, Jared from Witches, Matte, who, um, well he's closely connected to Al Scorch, and Dean who made the artwork for the New Socks cd all live together. Witches - Forever LP
This is the first full length album by the band Witches made up of my buddies from my hometown of Athens, GA. It is out in the LP format on Bakery Outlet Records and it is very good. New Socks are an awesome band from Geneseo, NY, even though two of the three of them have moved away, one of them being my friend Becky who lives here in athens now. This is their album which they finished this year. I just realized it's not free but it is CHEEP cheap. so I recommend checking it out.

Al Scorch and His Country Soul Ensemble
They are working on THEIR first full length record presently. Here is a YouTube video of them performing one of THEIR songs which will probably be on this album. This was filmed last winter in Chicago at the empty bottle.
This was taken in a crowded Athens restaurant, where a couple of weird customers wouldn't budge during the filming. I
approached Patrick a bunch of times about recording, but it never worked out. Luckily I have some very persuasive friends ( thanks Ginger and Jeff!), who made it happen. Also thank you Cara Beth and Tatiana for supplying the sweet digs.

I've always been a fan of Cara's music, whether it's on her own or with Witches. During their recent tour , she incorporated a couple of solo songs into their set, many which can be found on this record. I asked her whether she'd want to put it up on IYMI, and she seemed pretty happy about never having to burn another CD of it.
So here it is, 6 songs by Witches' Cara Beth Satalino. Her voice is definitely in my top 5.
